AN INTERVIEW WITH Daniele Zucchini and Sara Bergamini, ACTOR & DIRECTOR

As a filmmaker, please introduce yourself.

We are Daniele Zucchini and Sara Bergamini, we are Italian and we are respectively two producers,

an actor (Daniele) and a director (Sara).

We are people who have been through a lot in life and who have decided to believe that something

beautiful could happen to us. We have dreams: one of which is to make people smile because laughter

prolongs life. And life is beautiful when it is colorful, not when you are sad or depressed.

We ended up producing these short films because so many doors were closed in our faces.

How can we prove our worth if not by demonstrating our abilities?

Here we are. We are genuine, fighters. And we want to work, expand, and shine like the sun.

We decided to do this interview together because we are a team.

It wouldn't have been right to present both sides separately. Daniele is an actor, and he began to show

himself in this role at the beginning of 2024.

In the short films we make, he demonstrates his skills: he is a brilliant person, full of ideas, creative,

honest. And I, Sara, work behind the scenes to give him the spotlight he deserves.

What did he do that was so important?

He gave me understanding, he believed in me when even those who brought me into this world

did not. My parents didn't want me at home, but he made me understand that there are ways to show who

you are. Each of us is someone, for ourselves and for someone else in the world.

Full of gratitude, I am doing my best to show the true beauty of a person: their heart.

Daniele has a big, good heart. And I can't help but want the best for him!

Why you became a filmmaker as director and producer?

We became producers because we had to find a way to show our skills to those who could change our

lives with a single click. We need to work, but how can we do so if the doors are closed at every

interview? How can we demonstrate our skills if we don't try them out in the field?

That's it. Producing something of our own means having no rules other than our own.

Our idea is thus shaped to create something that is in line with our thinking.

And in this case, we speak for both of us.

As for becoming the “director” of this and other short films, I, Sara, did it because I wanted to

show Daniele for the beautiful person he is, for his qualities, for the skills he has accumulated over

the years. In addition to wanting to repay him for what he has done for me.

I want to see Daniele Z. shine.

As it should be. May God always bless him and also bless all those who read this interview.

This is our experience. But we won't stop here! We already have other projects in mind.

What are the films or people that had impacts on you and deeply inspired you to become a filmmaker?

We both love comedy films, films for teenagers/children, fantasy films, and action films.

Let's go back in time and take a dip into the films and sagas of the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s. In addition to the more recent ones, of course, but we are still a little stuck on how the old ones were—simply—structured.

The person who influenced me to draw on all my resources was Daniele. Because, as I said, he gave me a purpose: when I wasn't even treated like a “person,” he did. And I will never forget that, for as long as I live.

You have made your film "The Interview" which got official selection in the
"American Golden Picture International Film Festival".

As a filmmaker, why you decided to make it?

Both Daniele and I decided to convey what most people don't say when they're facing a job interview.
When they're about to face it. The fact that we split the main character's personality in two emphasizes
the mind game.
The mind is an unpredictable “animal.”

Of course, we turned it into comedy, but it should actually make you think.

How many people experience anxiety, frustration, and tension before an interview?

How many perform good luck rituals before an interview?

How many people get a question wrong in an interview because they are afraid of making a mistake
and not because they are unprepared?

What were some of the challenges you faced in making this specific film?

Challenges? Making everything look so real. It's not always easy to cut scenes at the right
time.
But if it's been selected, it means we've done something “good.” And we'll continue to give our best,
improving as we go.

Let us more about your experience in this film?

It's a projection of our moods.

Simply this: we remember our tension (both Daniele's and mine) the last time we had an interview, and
that... they didn't put us at ease.
While it makes us smile to see ourselves “from the outside,” it is also true
that the feelings in those conditions are real. Tangible.

The Crew member of your film supports the story in a effective way.
What was it like to work with them?

Working together—Daniele and I—is spectacular. We listen to each other a lot.
We understand that if a scene isn't working, we can adapt it to make it flow better.

When we put our ideas together, everything becomes like a fun game. And that's how work
should be, not something you're forced to do. It's true that when a screenwriter/writer sees a scene in their
head, they see it as beautiful. But when the actors put it into practice, the director must also understand
that if there's a problem, it needs to be changed to make it flow. We don't set limits for ourselves.
We even completely changed a project once because it wasn't worki
ng!

For you what was the biggest lesson you had to learn after making this film?

The most important lesson we learned is that this film has had a lot of visibility on social media

where it is published. That's why we said, “Oh, we're on the right track!”

That's why we wanted to participate in film festivals.

We hope to win, to get something, but above all to receive an excellent work contract from

some award-winning and famous producer or director.

We want to work, and we want to be able to live!

What keeps you inspired to continue filmmaking?

We are driven by the need for serious work. We are driven by the need to be able to say

“we did it.” We are driven by the desire to finally have a life in which we can express ourselves and

not always leave our dreams locked away in a dark drawer because we potentially have so many ideas

that could be very fruitful for those who want to realize them. We lack the financial means to do so.

We have a different view of the world than many others.

This caused us suffering because a person who is “ahead of the curve,” looking toward the future,

in an environment where everyone else is looking only to the past, does not generate profits but only

obstacles. We want to be projected into a dynamic environment. No more loops.

The most important part is distributing the film. What did you do for distributing your film?

The film is online on LinkedIn and Instagram. At the moment, these were our options.

If there were a more appealing opportunity, we would gladly take it.

 What are your filmmaking goals?

We have a growth objective, which includes: a defined contract job in the film industry that gives us

security first and foremost. Then, to be able to have a lot of visibility. We would like to be able to work

on important and successful films. And expand our collaborations.

But first and foremost, after everything else on the list, to be able to move to a country where dreams

can fly and not remain locked away.

What is your next project?

Following this film, we have already produced and released several projects.

But there are others in the pipeline and in development that will begin shortly.

Daniele and I are working on it together, as a team.

GOOD LUCK Sara and Daniele
